Job Title: Agent Engineer (Intern/Full-Time)

We are a stealth AI startup in SF, backed by top-tier U.S. funds. Our mission is to build the foundational infrastructure and platform for the next generation of AI-powered software development. We are assembling a team of passionate engineers and researchers to tackle core challenges at the intersection of artificial intelligence and programming.

Position Summary

We are seeking Agent Engineers at both intern and full-time levels to join our core team. The ideal candidate possesses a strong blend of research intuition and engineering rigor, with a deep interest in autonomous systems, large language models, and practical AI application. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and evaluating the intelligent systems that form the backbone of our AI coding platform.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust frameworks for autonomous AI agents, with a focus on coding applications.

Implement and optimize the integration of multimodal large language models into production systems.

Build and refine evaluation pipelines to measure and improve agent performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Collaborate closely with the team to transition research concepts into scalable, reliable infrastructure.

Work across the stack as needed, contributing to tooling, APIs, and system architecture.

Required Qualifications

Pursuing or holding an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a closely related field. Outstanding undergraduate candidates with significant relevant experience will also be considered.

Solid understanding of the principles behind modern large language models and multimodal systems.

Hands-on experience with the development and evaluation of agent frameworks. Proficiency with relevant tools and paradigms (e.g., function calling, MCP, skill/tool integration).

Strong software engineering skills in Python. Familiarity with common AI/ML frameworks.

Ability to work and communicate effectively in a fully English-speaking environment.

Demonstrated capacity for independent research, problem-solving, and building complex systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Proven experience in building and deploying AI agents in real-world scenarios.

Experience with full-stack development (e.g., React, SwiftUI) is a significant plus.

A track record of relevant publications or contributions to open-source projects.

Background or strong interest in program synthesis, code generation, or developer tools.
