 说明： "致地球上以及地球周围的所有人，我们从月球上向你们致以爱意。我们会在月球的另一边与你们相见"。美国东部时间4月6日下午6点44分[6]，阿提米斯二号任务飞行员维克托·格洛弗说道。此时，83亿人口减去4人，以及地球，都已落入[7]月球地平线之下。 随后，猎户座太空船诚信号飞掠月球，开始了长达七小时的月球飞行。 太空人描述[8]了月球背面[9]一些前所未见的区域。令人费解的是，月球背面火山活动远少于[10]近地面。 对月球表面保存完好的陨石坑峰顶、坑底、台地和环状地形[11]的新观测，将有助于我们了解太阳系的撞击历史[12]。 在其他对于表面特征描述中，太空人观测到了月球上保存最完好的盆地之一—东方盆地[13]，并发现了两个新的陨石坑[14]。 当地球升出[15]月球地平线，诚信号太空船开始返回地球时，阿提米斯二号任务专家克里斯蒂娜·科赫有力地总结了人类更伟大的任务："…我们将永远选择地球。我们将永远选择彼此。"
