说明: 如果你能飞越火星[6]北极,会看见什么? 2019 年欧洲太空总署任务火星快车太空船[7]拍摄的图像,被剪辑成这支精选视频[8],带你展开一次从北极上空掠过的旅程。 首先映入眼帘的是一片泛橙红色的地貌,这是由于细土中锈蚀的铁元素[9]造成的,部分裸露的岩石使地形显得颜色更深。 不久,北极冰冠[10]出现在视野中,由于水冰的反射,它大部分呈现白色。 环绕这片极地冰冠[11]的则是北极盆地[12],这是一处层状的低地,其表面覆盖着大量尘土[13]与沙砾[14]。 这支视频[15]拍摄于火星北半球春季末期,当时多数二氧化碳冰[16]已升华,只留下冰冠中较为稳定的水冰[17]。 火星快车[18]太空船至今仍持续研究火星表面,寻找这颗红色行星古代气候[19]与生命存在可能性[20]的线索[21]。
