Postdoctoral position in basic medicine at University of California San Diego

Job Description:

The laboratory of Professor Patricia Thistlethwaite in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at University of California San Diego, seeks to fill a postdoctoral research position in the field of pulmonary arterial hypertension signaling pathway.

The candidate will work on the role of Notch signaling pathway in the genesis of pulmonary arterial hypertension. The PI has strong publication record with several papers published in The New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, Circulation and Science Translational Medicine, etc. The PI's full publication list can be found here: https://profiles.ucsd.edu/patricia.thistlethwaite.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 1) M.D. or Ph.D. or both degrees from reputable university.

2) Strong background of molecular biology is required. The candidate should have experiences with western blot, molecular cloning, PCR, RT-PCR, immunofluorescence, IHC, co-immunoprecipitation, cell culture, primary smooth muscle cell isolation, etc. 3) One or more publications as the first author.
