在太空中自由翱翔

 说明： 在太空中自由翱翔会是什么感觉？ 距离 航天飞机[3] 的货舱约 100 公尺处，布鲁斯・麦肯德利斯二世正把梦想化为现实- 他在当时创下人类飘离载具最远的纪录，于真空中无拘无束地在太空中自由漂浮[4]（见照片[5]）。 他的行动由载人机动设备（MMU）[6]引导。 在 1984 年的 航天飞机[7]任务 41-B[8] 期间，麦肯德利斯[9] 与搭档、NASA 太空人[10] 罗伯特・史都华[11]，首次体验[12]了这种「无系留[13]」的太空行走[14]。 MMU[15]以喷射氮气[16]产生反作用力，可用于协助部署与回收卫星[17]等任务。 虽然其质量超过 140 公斤，MMU[18] 在 地球[19] 上相当笨重，但在轨道上与万物一样处于失重环境中。 后来，MMU 被简易舱外活动救援辅助系统 SAFER[20] 所取代。
